Let's start the Blog with looking back to what happened in February.
I left Germany to visit Mexico for a week on February 2nd. I've never been in the country some of my relatives live in. So I know the country and my familiy there only from stories I heard in the past. Time to explore first hand how they live, what Mexican lifestyle is about and what beauty this country has to offer!
We went to many temples, pyramids, old abbeys, had delicious Mexican food (the first time I ever tried a cactus) and a nice sunburn! I met my Prima (my cousin) for the first time ever. She is about my age and so much fun, we sat together almost every night to talk about and catch up on what we've done in our lives up to this point. It was such a fun experience to find out about someone that is related to you but you've never known before! I also got the change to meet my younger cousins, some of them for the first time ever, too. The whole extended family was thrilled to see us (again) and equally thrilled were we!
The wedding was great, too. I didn't catch a lot of what the pastor said (I would consider my Spanish non-existent...), but the couple looked cute and the bride's dress was simply amazing! We were singing and dancing until 5am when we finally made our way home. That's probably the only time you can drive in Mexico without being stuck in traffic...
